    Welcome to LOKII System

    LOKII (Low-Cost Operating System with Knowledge and Innovation Intelligence) is an electronic board that provides onboard speech, voice, and computer vision functions for building interactive electronic contraptions. The benefits of using LOKII are many. The followings are most welcomed by inventors  :

    • Lowers the technical skill required to add speech, voice, and vision to the interactive contraption, say robots
    • Chat enabled
    • Bringing the cost of manufacturing the electronic contraption down to a level acceptable to the toy industry.


    With LOKII, STEAM students can now use the same Arduino programming model (Blocky) that they learned in STEAM classes to quickly build electronic contraptions, say interactive robots, that respond to voice and visual images. The onboard text-to-speech function added speech capability to the contraption.


    Also, LOKII's digital Mic has exceptional reception (no white noise) capability making speech-to-text possible. LOKII can convert speech input into text input for powerful AI l chatbots, say ChatGPT, in the Cloud and use TTS to read out the text returns from these AI chatbots. Coordinated with motor-controlled movements of a robot's mouth, eyes, and hands, a clever inventor can make a robot come to life like a human.

      

    This innovative technology, developed by a team of professional engineering in Hong Kong received funding support from the Innovation and Technology Fund (ITF) of the  Hong Kong SAR Government.

      • All LOKII smart devices (motors, IR sensors, LED lights, potentiometers, switches, buttons, hall sensors, positional sensors… etc.) are shared and connected by a single bus (4-wires) for communication and power supply.
      • A single bus is adequate to support over 100 smart devices
      • Every smart device has a unique and changeable identifier.
      • Each smart device can receive commands and report status/error to LOKII main board

After completing his B.Sc degree, he moved to Toronto, Canada, and worked for IBM Canada in software development. He later relocated back to Hong Kong and joined the Innovation and Technology Commission. He was the Senior Manager responsible for funding R&D projects in the private sector.

      With 20+ years of experience in embedded system design and software development, Sam has a strong background in embedded system development. Sam received his master's degree in Computer Science from the Chinese University of Hong Kong. He was in-charged of well-known projects like WowWee RSMedia, Hanson Robotic Einstein, etc.

      Edward graduated with a Computer Science bachelor's degree and a Computer Science and Engineering master's degree from The Chinese University of Hong Kong. He has been working for more than 15+ years in electronics design industries and getting involved in software programming and project management in various projects. As a technology enthusiast, he is eager to bring the latest technology into new design to value-added projects or lower the overall manufacturing cost.

      Graduating from Chinese university of Hong Kong, has over 10 years experience in electronic hardware design. Able to perform in high stress fast paced environment with a focus on continuous improvement. Conduct detailed high level defect investigations to root cause, and work with responsible areas to develop and implement corrective actions.

      Ricky is the Chief Hardware Architect of the software and hardware development team. He has a strong background in embedded system programming, robotics, and system design experience. Ricky received his Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the University of Science and Technology in HK. He was in-charged of many well-known projects like the Tomy I-Sobot, the WowWee Robosapien, etc.

      Electronic Engineer


      Clive comes from a strong electronic background for decades. Graduate with a Computer Engineering bachelor's degree, he has strong leadership experience in addition to his ability to manage multiple projects at once. As the R&D team member, he brings a fresh perspective on the latest programming trends and new language development.
